Stimulus-specific Individual Differences in Holistic Processing of Mooney Faces

Published in Frontiers in Psychology, 2020

Here, we show that there are unique individual differences in holistic processing of specific Mooney faces. Essentially, what counts as holistic for one person is unique to that particular observer. Interestingly, we found that the per-face, per-observer differences in face discrimination only occurred for harder Mooney faces that required relatively more holistic processing.

Periphery-Fovea Multi-Resolution Driving Model Guided by Human Attention

Published in Proceedings of the IEEE/CVF Winter Conference on Applications of Computer Vision (WACV), 2020, 2020

Inspired by human vision, we propose a new periphery-fovea multi-resolution driving model that predicts vehicle speed from dash camera videos.

Designing a New Method of Studying Feature-Length Films

Published in Projections, 2020

In this article, we describe a new method that combines quantitative and qualitative data to study viewers’ experiences of different structural features of films.
